Customers for your business... I've always been told that a good experience tells one and a bad experience tells ten. 
First, any business, the secret is to keep the customers happy. When I'm happy about something, I tell my friends, or even post about it on the internet. If I'm not happy about something, I'll also tell my friends and maybe post about it on the internet.
If you run a good, honest business, the customers will come.

You do need to find them in the right places, indeed. You're not going to stand on a beach in the middle of summer, and sell winter coats, that's not going to work.

When I went to NYC recently, I noticed so many small food stands in the streets in Upper Manhattan. But, they are where the customers are. Lots of people walking by, some are hungry. Put that same food stand on a deserted road, and you might have 1 customer all day.

It's often a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Also another tip... if you promote your business on the internet, never, ever spam. Personally, I totally dismiss unwanted mail, even if it's something I actually want to look at. In this day and age, people get spammed way too often, and it's a deterrent for the product you try to sell.
