In 1970 Chinese started space program and launched the first satellite which was unfortunately halted twice and ended in 1980. However, on 19 November 1999 China began a new program and launched the first spacecraft named “Shenzhou 1”. In the beginning, Shenzhou spacecraft has not life support system but on 15 October 2003 Shenzhou 5 carried a single astronaut, Yang Liwei. After that China became the 3rd Country in the world which placed a person in orbit.
